SAINT GEORGE INTER-SCHOOL SPELLING BEE 2026
INTERNATIONAL NEWS EDITION
Information:
- There are three categories all for the secondary level.
- Cat 1: 1st and 2nd grades
- Cat 2: 3rd and 4th grades
- Cat 3: 5th and 6th grades
The Bee will be divided into two sections:

Section One (Student Selection Process):
- This will be an internal competition within your school using the word lists provided to determine your best students that will participate in the finals.
- The word list for this section will contain 500 - 600 words per category.
- Section one starts on Tuesday, April 1st, when the word lists will be sent to all participating schools.
- You should submit the names of the students that will participate in the finals by Friday, June 19th.
- Three students are permitted to participate per category (nine students in total for each school), using 4 words per round instead of 5.

Section Two (Finals):
- Booked for Friday, August 14th, and will be held at the Saint George Coliseum (subject to modification).
- The word lists will remain the same as section one, 500 - 600 words per category.
Prizes/Medals: Prizes/medals will be presented to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in all categories, and a trophy per category.

- Fairness: Participants should have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
- Integrity: Participants should follow the rules and regulations of the competition without cheating.
- Respect: Participants should treat their fellow competitors, judges, and organizers with courtesy and respect.
- Responsibility: Participants should take responsibility for their own behavior and impact on the competition.
